Established in 2023 and officially chartered on 24 March 2024, the Leo Club of CINEC Campus is a proud Omega Leo Club operating under Leo District 306 D6 (formerly Leo District 306 C1). Sponsored by the Lions Club of Gothatuwa New Century, the club was founded with the vision of empowering young leaders through meaningful community service, leadership development, and lifelong fellowship.
The club was chartered under the leadership of its Charter President, Leo Ovindu Rupasinghe, whose dedication and vision laid the foundation for a vibrant and service-driven Leo movement within CINEC Campus. Since its inception, the club has continued to grow by creating opportunities for students to lead impactful community projects, develop professional and interpersonal skills, and embrace the values of volunteerism and responsible citizenship.
Guided by our Club Advisor, Lion Dhanushka Sandanayake MJF MAF, and supported by our Staff Advisor, Capt. K.D.A.P. Sedrick, the Leo Club of CINEC Campus serves as a platform where students transform ideas into action through projects focused on education, environmental sustainability, healthcare, youth empowerment, humanitarian service, and community development. Every initiative reflects the Leo motto of Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity, while encouraging members to become compassionate and globally minded leaders.
As an official club of Leo Clubs International, our members are connected to a worldwide network of young volunteers dedicated to making a positive impact. Through collaboration, innovation, and a shared passion for service, the Leo Club of CINEC Campus continues to inspire change, strengthen communities, and develop the next generation of leaders committed to creating a better tomorrow.

History & Origin
Our Charter Story
The idea of establishing a Leo Club at CINEC Campus was first envisioned and initiated by Leo Sadesh Nayodya, who was a student of CINEC at the time and now serves as the Membership Chairperson of the Leo Club of Thalangama Malabe, alongside Leo Chehara Oshadhi, whose guidance laid the foundation for the club’s formation.
With the approval and encouragement of the campus administration, the club began its journey under the leadership of Charter President Leo Ovindu Rupasinghe, with mentorship from Past District President Leo Thimira Uyanhewage FLM. First Staff Advisor Ms. Shannon Wijerathne provided essential institutional support to ensure the club’s sustainability within CINEC.
As with any new charter, the club faced its share of challenges—from mobilizing members to establishing its presence within the district. Yet, strong teamwork among charter year members, coupled with unwavering support from district leadership and campus administration, helped the club overcome obstacles and set ambitious standards.
